JOOVE was started by us, Spencer and Jeffrey Jan. We grew up in the suburbs of Toronto Canada and spent most of our childhood skateboarding and snowboarding. As kids, we enjoyed the freedom of gliding on skateboards through concrete shopping centers in the summers and the quiet silence found at the peak of snowcapped mountains in the winter. Life was full of simple pleasures back then.

As the years went by, that simplicity had seemed to slip away. College, careers, and bills to pay... the hustle and bustle of life took over our young families as we fought the 'daily grind.' We found ourselves reminiscing about the simple and energetic days of our youth way too often. As fun as that is, it's hardly good therapy. So we felt it was about time that we take it upon ourselves to search for new ways to recharge our batteries. But as young professionals at the beginning of our careers, finding time during the day to recharge our batteries was difficult.

That's when we realized that there are always those precious eight hours we have each night to rest and relax. So we started there. As we looked for ways to increase the quality of our nightly rest we realized that the rest product market is confusing and expensive. Who can afford a bed that costs thousands of dollars?!?!

So we decided to be our own solution. After all, we figured that if we were in need of rejuvenation, others desperately need it too. We decided to create a place where people could find superb rest products at an affordable price. And we hope that we can transform it into an online platform promoting simplicity and rejuvenation of the body, mind, and soul. That's how we started JOOVE.
